Got a Question? Check These Before You Book

Each of our rooms has a maximum capacity of 5 people, we’re not able to stretch above this number. As we have 11 rooms, we can host up to 55 people on any time slot. The rooms all have a time limit of up to an hour with a small brief beforehand and a debrief afterwards.

To ensure you and your teams have the best possible time with us, please ensure that you remember our rules regarding intoxication. If any of our guests appear inebriated, we will have to refuse entry as it is a health and safety concern. In such an event, no refunds will be offered, and the booking will be forfeit.

Most of our rooms are “family friendly” in terms of content, but are not designed with younger children in mind. We recommend 12 and upwards for everything except Butcher (18+) and Howitz (16+). Anyone under 12 will need to be accompanied by an adult inside the room.

As we run on fixed time slots, it is best to try and arrive at least 10-15 minutes before your booking. This allows time to use bathrooms and ask any questions you may have. Once your room is ready we will take you for a short health and safety/story brief before your 60 minutes begins. If you are late for any reason, we may have to reduce the time inside the room accordingly.

Time slots are:

Monday - Friday: 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm, 4pm, 5.30pm, 7pm, 8.30pm

Saturday: 9.30am, 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm, 4pm, 5.30pm, 7pm, 8.30pm

Sunday: 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm, 4pm, 5.30pm, 7pm

Butcher- a serial killers lair. Not for the easily scared… this room carries an 18+ rating for a reason. The lights will go out at random and you won’t be able to see your hand in front of your face or anyone else that may have joined you in the room… you have been warned! Some crawling, no climbing. Good for players with some experience (fear can severely reduce your chance of escape!).

Chronos - a mysterious laboratory, suspended in time. Not scary, no crawling or climbing. Good for people with some experience.

Contraption - a 1920’s inventor’s workshop. Not scary, does start off a bit dark but should get brighter as the team progresses. Some physical activity but no crawling or climbing. Great for beginners.

Curio - a treasure hunter’s manor. Not scary. No crawling or climbing. Slight warning for anyone that suffers from motion sickness though… Our toughest room to date.

EPI Centre - a chemical research lab that has just been hit by an earthquake! Not scary, some crawling and climbing steps. Good for players with some experience.

Heistakes - a bank heist! Not scary, small amount of crawling involved. Great for beginners.

Howitz - a haunted toy store! More jumpy than terrifying (unless you don’t like clowns!). Strong references to the occult and supernatural. No climbing or crawling. Good for players with some experience.

Immaterium - officially licensed Warhammer 40K escape room (or a space ship to anyone not interested in Warhammer!)- Not scary but is quite dimly lit. Lots of crawling, climbing and tight spaces… very physical. Good for players with some experience.

Reactorvate - an abandoned nuclear power facility! Not scary but is quite dimly lit, pitch black in places. Good for players with some experience.

Robin of Lockskey - a modern day adventure with “National Treasure/Indiana Jones” vibes! Not scary although a bit dimly lit in places. Lots of crawling and climbing. Very physical. Good for players with some experience.

Violet - the curse of stokes county in Nottingham can you solve the curse bestowed by the witch

Escapologic® Nottingham - FAQS

Is there anywhere to park?

The St James NCP is the closest car park to our Nottingham escape rooms. In Nottingham, we're on Castle Gate, which is a 5 minute walk away from the St James NCP on foot. If you come out onto Maid Marian Way, turn right and follow the road down past Ye Olde Salutation Inn, turn left onto castle gate and follow the road round.

What do I wear?

Our Nottingham escape rooms are located in a basement complex. The rooms may involve crawling or getting down on the floor to examine your environment. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes, which you don't mind getting a bit dusty.

What is an escape room?

An escape room or locked room puzzle is a real-world, physical game featuring challenges, riddles, and mysteries to solve within a time limit. Work as a team to break out of our themed escape rooms, which are brought to incredible life with immersive set design, special effects, sound design, and carefully selected props-many of which we have designed and built ourselves.

What makes you different from other escape rooms?

Our escape rooms in Nottingham are the standard by which others are judged. Every room is ingeniously created from scratch. Our themes are imaginative, thrilling, and totally immersive. Our special effects are slick and realistic. We design all of our own puzzles-there's more to Escapologic than finding a key to unlock a single door. Multiple clues, rooms with personalities, rooms that could have many different solutions... It's almost as though the building itself has given birth to self-contained little worlds! You'll be completely immersed in the hunt for the exit, and freedom.

Is there disabled access?

Unfortunately, we have no disabled access at this time.

Can I store personal belongings?

Each of our rooms has a recepticle for storing any belonings you have. They'll be locked in the room with you, so you can access them whenever you need them.

How long do I have to escape the room?

Escapologic is a race against the clock, to work out the answers to fiendish riddles and gather clues from your environment before the room claims you for its own. All of our escape rooms in Nottingham have a time limit of one hour. If you're not out by then, we'll send our minions in to rescue you!.

Can I do this if I'm pregnant?

It depends on how you feel about being in a locked room! Some of our rooms involve crawling, or dark, enclosed spaces. If you are heavily pregnant, or find darkness or the potential for scares troubling, you may not enjoy the experience. If you have had any problems during your pregnancy, or are unsure, please consult your doctor before attempting our escape rooms. Please feel free to contact us for more information.

Do you sell refreshments?

Nottingham currently sells light refreshments from the reception desk - the stock rotates so be sure to ask what selection we've got available!

What age is Escapologic suitable for?

Escapologic is for anyone and everyone, we say that anyone from the age of 12 and up can play but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been surprised by younger players before, adults can use their own discretion when bringing younger players, you can also call ahead to make sure that room is suitable for any children you are bringing. There is no upper age limit either, if you are in good health and physically mobile then you’ll be fine in any of our rooms. However, do feel free to call to find out if there are any limitations on the room you wish to book.

How many people can play at a time?

Groups of friends, larger groups, and couples have all attempted to solve the mysteries of our escape rooms! However, we recommend that Escapologic is played in groups of between 2-5 people. If you have a larger group, we can arrange for you to play your chosen room back to back. Or, if there is availability, you can make a booking to play multiple escape rooms at the same time. Escapologic is very popular, so if you are thinking of coming in a large group it's a good idea to make enquiries well in advance. All of our rooms are tailored for between 2-5 players, unfortunately we cannot allow any team sizes larger than 5 in any room, due to health and safety.

What are your opening times?

Our Nottingham escape rooms run on 'slots', each 90 minutes apart. Our first slots and last slots are 11:00am and 8:30pm, Monday to Friday. 9:30am and 8:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays are 11.00am and 7:00pm.

We've got ELEVEN rooms at our Nottingham site: CONTRAPTION, IMMATERIUM, EPICENTRE, HOWITZ, BUTCHER, CRONOS, CURIO, HEISTAKES, ROBIN OF LOCKSKEY, REACTORVATE AND VIOLET Each room has a different personality and theme. We recommend exploring their individual pages before booking, as some are more intense than others. If you would like help choosing a room, please feel free to call our dungeon minions. They'll be happy to give you spoiler-free guidance on the locked room game that's best for you!

Are there toilets on site?

Yes. We recommend going before you play! Unspeakable evil takes no time for bathroom breaks. Once the door has locked behind you, you're in for the duration. And may never come out at all... (Obviously we'll let you out whenever you like, if you need us to. But you don't want to spoil the illusion...).

Are you open all year round?

Our escape rooms are open Monday-Sunday, all year round. We do take a break on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, December 27, and New Year's Day, though. Even the unsleeping custodians of terror need a little time off!.

What’s the largest number of people I can bring?

We can accommodate up to 40 guests during a single time slot and our Room maximum is 5 players at a time, however if you wanted to book for more guests then we can fit your group across multiple time slots or rooms given the availability.
