REVEALED: The Top 10 Streaming Services For Horror Movies This Halloween

Here at Escapologic, we’re big fans of all things horror. All you have to do is take a brief look at our range of escape rooms to find inspiration taken from some of the best horror movies in the game, from ‘Saw’ to ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’.

Of course, there’s no better time to indulge in a horror movie than Halloween, which is why we’ve been researching which streaming service is the best for horror movies this year, and has the most available to stream right now.

Our results are as follows:

The top 10:

1. Amazon Prime - 1,069 horror movies

2. Shudder - 461 horror movies

3. Netflix - 322 horror movies

4. ARROW - 303 horror movies

5. Cultpix - 182 horror movies

6. Sky Go - 130 horror movies

7. Disney+ - 100 horror movies

8. Classix - 99 horror movies

9. BFI Player - 97 horror movies

10. Mubi - 60 horror movies

There’s no surprise that Amazon Prime comes out on top, with Shudder second - a horror, thriller and supernatural specific streaming service that was launched in the UK back in 2016.

Our research shows that Halloween is the perfect time for the unique, cultish, wacky and original to thrive, with sites such as ARROW, Cultpix, Classix, BFI Player and Mubi all making the top 10.

As well as finding the top 10 streaming services for horror movies, we took a look at the top-rated (according to IMDB) horror films available on each service:

Amazon Prime - Tumbbad: 8.2

Shudder - The Wrath: 7.9, Night Of The Living Dead: 7.9, Nosferatu: 7.9

Netflix - Inglorious Bastards: 8.3

ARROW - The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari: 8

Cultpix - Night Of The Living Dead: 7.9, Nosferatu: 7.9

Classix - Faust: 8.1

BFI Player - The Cremator: 8, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari: 8

Using Just Watch, we filtered ‘horror’ and ‘subscription’ to find out which subscription services had the most horror films included in their price. We also used Just Watch to find the top-rated horror film on each streaming service.
